Friday is Good Friday and the following days are Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Well, it means holidays!!! Nothing special, though. Just longer weekends break. Shops close, trains delay, nowhere to go. Primark Basingstoke opened this morning and my colleague just went to shop there. Yes, during working hours, haha …
Mee and I finished watching Wasabi Mon Amour yesterday and most likely to watch The Family Link or Ultimate Crime Fighter tonight. While watching Wasabi Mon Amour, we had the urged to eat sushi. However, there isn’t any Japanese restaurant in Basingstoke except Wagamama but it doesn’t sell sushi. The nearest Sushi Bar is in Southampton.

I haven’t been updating my task lists for quite sometime. I am pretty sure that I have none of the task lists accomplished instead; I have few more things to add. Complicated, huh? I think I will add a Hong Kong Drama list to list out the dramas which Mee and I had watched. That could be interesting.
I first started blogging a few months after I reached UK. It was a private blog and I treated it as my daily diary. It’s so sad because I was not able to keep it alive after 2 months. I started again beginning of this year, with the thought of new year with new beginning and new hope. Gladly, I am still writing posts and it’s for the public view.
Keeping the commitment to write a post almost everyday is quite hard because I have to have the determination as well as the time. However, no matter how busy I am, I will still try to post things which I have in my mind while accomplishing my job’s tasks.
PayPerPost is the drive that encouraged me to blog. From the site, I learn from others’ blogs and posts. It’s amazing when you look at how people blog about and their writing style where you can improve on. It’s also a fun and relaxing to read about people’s blogs instead on only updating my own blog.
PayPerPost may be all about money factor but may be not. Blogging on topics which you like is enjoying and sharing it with others is like a dream. I may be new to PayPerPost but the reason of signing up is that I realize the potential of improving myself. What could you hope for more when you get paid to blog on things you like?
By starting this first opportunity, I hope that I could accumulate my earnings and be on the blogger dashboard of PayPerPost as the Top Blog Earners or featured in the Blog of the Day.
My friends who know that I blog often ask the reason of blogging and what happen if no one read my blog. As much as I wish that my posts will be read by lots of people, I will still be satisfied that I am still keeping my blog alive. Since I got my blog approved in PayPerPost, I have another reason to tell my friends which is, ‘I get paid by PayPerPost to blog!!!’

Weather is nice today. Not to mention Saturday and yesterday as it rained throughout the day. My £1 umbrella still serves me good though. While walking back home with Mee on Saturday, there were lots of earthworms by the roadside; along the path we walked home. I didn’t notice it when I walked to Mee’s workplace before that. I wondered how many had I stepped on. Gross!!!
As planned, Mee and I went to Colindale in the morning. Oriental City was having 2008 China Olympics Cultural Festival – Changsha Cultural and it was packed with people; even the food court. We could hardly find a seat for the first 10 mins. Mee ordered minced pork yee mee and I ordered Nasi Goreng Kampung and curry puffs.
We reached Basingstoke at 2030 and we had to wait for the 2215 bus which is the last bus. Almost 2 hours. We had a choice of boarding a bus which would go to the nearest path where we could walk home but it was too cold at that time. We had no choice but to wait. We had our dinner at Subway which opened till late night.
VS
Mee and I went to Colindale yesterday and as usual, I needed to wait about 2 hours while Mee got her face done. While waiting, I would normally play my PSP games.
I had two games with me yesterday; Test Drive: Unlimited and Need for Speed: Prostreet. Well, where’s Ridge Racer 2 then, you might ask? I had decided to stop playing it for a while and complete TDU from where I left. I stopped TDU at 56% somewhere last year because the joystick was not responsive at that time. However, I got it sorted out at later dates by getting a replacement unit since it was still under warranty.
TDU is still the best driving game for PSP at the moment. There are versions of Need for Speed but none of it is any good. Prostreet is somehow better than its predecessor in terms of gameplay and control. But none of the Need for Speed games offers free roam like its PC games. PSP Prostreet is also easy to play and there are only Grip and Speed mode as compared to the PC version which has Grip, Time Attack, Speed, Drift, Drag and Sector Shootout. The graphic is disappointing.
TDU on the other hand plays and looks similar to the PC version except there are no missions of giving people a lift to their destinations or driving sports car for repair and other small details. However, the concept is still the same which allows gamers to drive around the island of Hawaii and look for challenges or buy properties.
Hmmm…. I forgot to mention that I had upgraded my PSP firmware to 3.90 M33v2 as Prostreet firmware requirement is 3.71 or 3.73 and above. The upgrade was easy because the firmware I was using before upgrade was 3.52 M33 Update 4. The upgrade definitely includes some additional music options and Go!Messenger. I might try out the Go!Messenger at later dates.
My firmware evolution. 2.81 > 1.50 > 3.03 OE-C > 3.52 M33 Update 4 > 3.90 M33v2
Japan had launched a rocket, carrying a satellite which will deliver high-speed Internet connection to Asia-Pacific region close to Japan. It claimed to be able to offer speeds up to 1.2 gigabytes per second. AMAZING. (‘SUGOI’ in Japanese; pronounce as sugo-e)
Virgin Media UK had launched 20MB broadband in the middle of last year but has yet to announce 100MB fibre optics connection speed until now; while Japan already had 100MB broadband two years back. So, considering the broadband speed offered at the moment and in the future, it looks like we might have to wait about 10 – 20 years to get up to 1.2GB broadband.
While Japan has the fastest broadband connection in the world, the cost of subscription is also the cheapest in the world.

It wasn’t that bad yesterday. At least my colleague and I still had topics to talk about. Hmm… he will be my manager start from next month. Anyway, foreigners like to treat colleagues like friends. We also talked about my performance and job responsibilities. So far, he is satisfied with me and impressed with the way I handle tasks. Well, there is always room for improvement.
As usual, I asked him whether I did anything wrong or anything that I should improve on and as usual, he said no.
The big difference between working in Malaysia and UK is that they are more optimistic and don’t seem to find faults among colleagues. They praise even on simple tasks and always encouraging people rather than forcing or picking on people’s fault.
There were more people this time; 12 in total compared to 4 in the last course. Most of them were managers from other colleges. The tutor this time was better and more experience than the previous one. Overall, the training was resourceful and hopefully, we could make use of the system. (But the implementation time could take a long long time as it needs approval from various parties in the college)
We left the Capita building at quarter to four but our train is at 1622. Due to rain, the train delayed. We stopped at Swindon and from there to Reading. The delayed caused us to miss the train back to Basingstoke and we reached Basingstoke station at 1910. I still managed to catch the 1918; otherwise, I would have to wait an hour for the next bus.

Did you notice any difference with the site? Yeah, I changed the background and added background color to the title at the right hand side. I just thought of making my site a bit colorful.
Please give any comments on my site design even though I know that it is quite a standard Flatpress design. Changes
will soon follow. And I added my own signature too.

Mee bought Evening Standard Newspaper at 50p to get a large umbrella for free. hehe…
