I have been in the IT field for almost 8 years. I consider myself lucky because I am able to stick to what I wanted to do when I began studying my degree. Well, why would I say that? It is partly because most of my course-mates are mostly in sales, insurance and other job industry rather than IT.

To me, IT and computing are quite complicated because there are so many qualifications and certifications where you can take other than degree. If I have people asking me which IT degree is good, I would advise them to go for certifications instead. I have a Business and Information Technology degree but I am not able to solve networking issues even though I was ‘taught’ during my course. However, I am now confident enough to solve networking issues since I have accomplished my Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

Maybe some people will think that degree is essential and blah blah blah… I agree with that but the need for certification is necessary to improve and refine the skill and most importantly, being certified by recognized organization. For example, my degree may be recognized only in UK and Malaysia but Cisco certification is recognized world-wide.

Nevertheless, CCNA is further divided in to Security, Voice and Wireless as well as higher level such as CCNP and CCIE which represent Professional and Expert certification and status. This indicates that there are different areas and skills to develop in order to specialize in networking.

A hot day. Very hot. It is not something reported in the weather forecast few days ago. But Mee told me that it is going to be cold next week. Well, let us see, then.

I told Mee about the British International Motor Show and she did not seem to be interested in it but willing to accompany me. However, I thought that we should go to the next one instead of this one because we are not familiar with London yet for example the car parks, congestion charge and things like that and most importantly, is the need to book the ticket online and wait for it to be posted to us or print the ticket which I do not have a printer. Case close.

As planned, Mee and I went to Halfords but nothing interested me. The shop is not as exciting as the car accessories shops that you can find in Malaysia. But maybe Halfords is not specializing in car accessories anyway. And it sells bicycles.

What a day. It is 23 degree Celsius now. As I typed, the number seems to be increasing as shown in Yahoo! weather widget. It has been a week since I got my car. Mee and I went to Lidl to buy some fruits and vegetable which are on promotion. After that, I drove her to work. No more rushing and no more guessing what time the bus will reach. And best of all, I do not have to carry the things we bought because the car carries everything.

My housemate, the polish girl, is moving out and according to the landlord, another polish girl will be moving in. As usual, we will be wondering what kind of people the latest housemate will be. But we just could not care much.

Lazy day for me. I do not think that I will be taking any pictures of my car today because it is just so hot. My housemate might think that I am a little bit obsessed. Well, I love cars. Even though my car is nine years old, but I think it is still doing great. Oh yeah, the British International Motor Show starts from the 23rd July – the 3rd of August. The ticket is not too expensive; £10 on weekday and £14 on weekend. And there is a special offer of £5 after 1700. I thought of going there but parking is another problem. I will talk to Mee and we will see how then.

I have heard a lot from my friends and my family saying that the gold in UK is different from the gold Malaysia. I was told that the gold in UK is not that shiny because it is only 9K while in some other countries including Malaysia, you can find higher ‘K’. Sometimes, I do not really understand but maybe because the lighting in the jewelry shop and frequent polishing make the gold chain looks good. Luckily, I am not into gold stuff because I prefer platinum or silver; like my P990i.

It has been a hot day. However, the weather forecast reported that there will be most likely rain for the next whole week. It is just so unpredictable.

And you know what; I was sitting at my workplace, doing nothing from 0815 until 1115 because all the servers were down due to a power surge. Anyway, it is Friday and I am having Monday and Tuesday off too. It will be a looong weekend for me.

Let me see. Most probably, I will be organizing my photo gallery, take a few pictures of my cars, shop at Halfords because they are having some 3 for 2 promotions and most importantly, blogging. For those who have not heard about Halfords, it is a car accessories shop but in my opinion, not as great as Brothers in Malaysia (Just look at the size of the logos). Maybe I will get a set of car mat if Mee is in town later because Wilkinson is selling £3.99 for a set which I believe is the cheapest around town.

As you may have read the post before this, I am seriously looking at hosting My Ideas 4 You myself. And that is part of the reason why I have been slow on the photo gallery as well as Initial D Project. Well, time will tell.
