SuperMee …

I have just calculated the number of posts in my blog. This is the 455! Wow, I have created 455 posts in the span of nearly eight months. Incredible I think. This will mean that blogging is not a three minutes task for me and I will carry on blogging forever.

Hmm.. today I will be going to the local GP for a new patient check. Can you imagine that I am registering as a new patient after I have lived here for nine months? I cannot believe it either. Another explanation, I am lazy. Anyway, I got the appointment today and I will be there at 1700.

Mee has been quite energetic nowadays. She travels between Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury and Morrisons in search for the best price of all products. Yes, I mean all products that we normally consume or use. She has a golden red book which records every product prices; 2 for 1, 3 for 2, vouchers, points, double points, better than half, buy one get one free and much more. She does not even want me to drive her around. She would rather get on a bus during the day because she reckons that the traffic will be bad in the evening. Well, I do agree with her because it is the beginning of the new academic year and parents are fetching their children to and from the school.

Just so you know. Tesco is on the North, Asda is on the South, Morrisons is on the East/West and Sainsbury is right in the middle of the town. There is a Sainsbury superstore outside the town but we never been there. There she goes, SuperMee.

Small thoughts about ipods

As much as I like about Macbook, I still feel a bit put off by Ipods. Indeed, it is the best selling mp3/mp4 players around the world and the price is quite reasonable. The software iTune which is used to transfer music into ipods is better than the SonicPlayer used in Sony’s walkman. Still, I am not convinced because the earphones that come with ipods look just normal to me.

What I mean normal is when comparing to Sony’s walkman. Some Sony’s walkmans come with noise cancelling earphones or in-ear earphones which perform much better than original ipods’ earphones. However, the latest ipod touch really attracts me with its huge and touch screen feature.

Proud to be Malaysian …

Coming 31st August 2008 is Malaysia’s 51st Independence Day. Although I will not be in Malaysia at that time, I hope that Malaysia be peaceful and the citizens will be able to live together in harmony. Sometimes, I feel special being a Malaysian because it is a multiracial country, though the current political issues have tarnished Malaysia’s image. All Malaysian should stand and work together towards the future. Finally, I still hope that Malaysia really BOLEH!

Show some patriotism and follow …

Clearing 2008 at the University of Bedfordshire

After going through the process of enrolment in this college, it seems like things are working very differently compared to the college that I studied previously. In the past, we had to decide our own course based on our own interest. I felt lucky because I have always wanted something to do with computing. What about students who do not have any ideas on what they want to study?

A process called the ‘Clearing’ will start from Thursday August 14th until middle of September at the University of Bedfordshire. The University of Bedfordshire – Clearing 2008 event is what I pointed out as different. Clearing is a process which helps students to decide the courses that are suitable for them. Basically, being a student, you can ask as many questions as you like. The Clearing 2008 team will offer their help and support as much as they can in order to give you the clear idea of each course in details.

In addition, you can also get information on accommodation, finance and everything about the University. Ring 0800 013 0925 to get the support that you need or fill in an online form to arrange a time for them to call you back.

Giant Spider killed a dog …

The above picture is a dangerous spider which bit a pet dog to death. It is believe that the giant spider was transported back from Afghanistan in paratrooper Rodney’s luggage.

The soldier’s family have been forced to leave their family home and refused to return to the property until the killer spider is captured by the RSPCA. A bit from a camel spider will result in major inflammation while not deadly to humans.

One interesting fact is that camel spiders can reach a speed of up to 10mph.

Paella pan

The first time that I heard about paella was watching Gordon Ramsay’s TV show. He was in Spain to help a British who opened a restaurant but failed to attract the tourists and locals. Most of the customers are one-off because the food was not right and there were no Spanish food in the menu. Thus, Gordon Ramsay challenged the restaurant owner to cook at the beach where he cooked paella while the restaurant owner cooked spaghetti. The result was everyone preferred paella.

According to Wikipedia, Paella is a typical Valencian rice dish from Spain. The origin of the name paella is in the Valencian for frying pan. Just by looking at the paella pan used by Gordon Ramsay, it was different. I believe the taste of paella will be very nice just by looking at it. I will definitely have a go for paella when I visit a Spain restaurant.
