Many things, little time …

My job in the morning was to plug in all the webcams to the enrolment computers and making sure that everything ran properly. I did not have to be in the room to direct the students anymore and the student helpers will be doing it for the rest of the enrolment week. Thus, I am free.

Internet connection is very slow today. I wonder what happened. Even my Firefox Portable did not work and I had to reinstall it into another new folder and it worked after that. Just yesterday, Outlook email was not working for the whole day. Something is not right over at the server room. Hmm…..

I have not been writing any articles for two months straight. I believe it is time now and I get the inspiration from the new categories that I have created. I have not updated them in my blog though. Since the internet connection is slow today, I will just concentrate on my articles rather than arranging all my posts to the respective new categories.

In addition, I feel that my sidebar sucks. It does not look good and not attractive at all. I will need to think of a way to polish it. Sigh, so many things to do, yet so little time.

No to $7 backup …

I am feeling a little bit sleepy right now. I have been standing for the whole morning and directing new and continuing students around the enrolment room. I was not supposed to do that but since I needed to be there for support purposes, I had to do so to keep myself occupied. It was not that busy because only few courses are available for enrolment tomorrow and I was told to come back to my office. Hence, tomorrow will be a different story.

Well, I will not have the time to update my blog design until next week. It will be a hectic week for me. Mee told me yesterday that my blog did not load at times in the afternoon. I believe that happened when I was doing a backup of my blog. With a little bit of patience and time, I believe that I am going to abandon the idea of paying a one time fee of $7 provided by the host to backup my blog.

Enrolment starting tomorrow …

I will be busy today. In fact, I am busy at the moment. Enrolment starts tomorrow. Even though I am not really involved in enrolment stuff but I need to take care of the equipment used especially the webcams because they can be easily stolen. All the computers and equipment are placed at the concourse area with no guards in the evening. Thus, it is my responsibility to plug the webcams early in the morning and unplug them after they finish with the webcams. ‘They’ refers to my student admin colleagues.

As enrolment starts, it means that coming September is the start of a new academic year. A lot of things are to be implemented and I am involved in the background process of some of those things that are needed to be done. Email is down at the moment and I am not able to check my things and tasks. Later on, I will be walking around the college to check the setup of the computers.

I am currently having a hard time trying to backup my blog. I used Net2FTP but it is very slow and not effective at all. I wonder if I should just pay a one time fee of $7 to my current host to backup my blog. After all, better be safe than sorry.

Great Outdoor Gastromic Occasions

Catering businesses are blooming and they can be fitted into all kinds of events; weddings, meetings, gatherings, school parties, farewell parties, spitroast catering and lots more. You name it, they cater it. It is not just the variety of services that they offered. It is the caterer’s presentations as well as the taste of the food that attracts people to use the service.

One of my colleagues just had her wedding not long ago. Her wedding caterer was only doing the catering service while the decorating part was handled by another party. However, Great Outdoor Gastromic Occasions (GOGO’S), provides the food and service together by creating an atmosphere that makes everything complete. Their professionals are always there to listen and help to create wonderful memories throughout the event.

Private party catering can be quite troublesome at times because different customers have different requests and often, they like something new and different. But they may find that their different requests can be fulfilled in GOGO’S because at GOGO’S, they strive to create different themes for each of their customers. In addition, GOGO’S provides other services such as renting of marquees, PA system, cutlery, musicians and waiters so that you do not have to go through the trouble of ringing different businesses for services that you would like to have in your event.

A long day in Colindale …

Today Mee and I went to Colindale. Weather was good even though it was cloudy. We did a good thing by returning a small pillow to a lady who unknowingly dropped it by the roadside. Well, we had to run after her and I felt a bit awkward. You know, carrying a small pillow and running. We had our lunch at Feringgi Bay and went to Wing Yip to do some shopping. At Feringgi Bay, I had Nasi Lemak Beef Rendang and Mee had Wa Tan Ho. We ordered two dim sums; Loh Mai Kai and Spring Rolls. All the dishes were actually quite good.

The restaurant owner used to have a food stall inside Oriental City and Mee and I always ordered food from them. That is part of the reason that we visit the restaurant. One of the staffs who served us today claimed that the chef is a Malaysian too.

This Wing Yip at Colindale is a bit smaller than the one in Croydon. As it is Bank Holiday, there were quite a lot of people.
