Here it is, Mee’s very own chicken pie. She must have put a lot of hard work on it. Yeah, real hard work. She has to prepare the ingredients, mix the flour, clean up the mess, and wait for the pies to cook. And to be honest, as I said in my previous post, the chicken pies were delicious.

My colleagues have been talking about slimming and dieting recently. Some of them used to consume diet pill in the past. Due to the credit crunch recently, they start to eat healthily instead of spending more money on diet pills for the sake of slimming. Well, what do you do when you determine to go on diet? Do you eat healthily and exercise?
As I mentioned before, Mee used to go on diet by eating healthily and exercise. The result was good but the most important thing to keep in mind when doing anything is the determination. Of course, dieting needs a lot of determination. You have to keep yourself away from temptation. I, in particular, eat anything and do not get fat while Mee has to control her mind so that she will not be tempted by the food that I eat.
Well, life is short, just eat.

I forgot to bring my thumb drive to work yesterday. So, I was not able to upload pictures. In addition, I was busy and I was still working when all my colleagues had gone home. Well, education in UK is very different from Malaysia. They take so much care of the students here that they do not call them as students. Students are learners. Every learner will have a unique numbers which is my responsible in this college, to upload all the necessary information to the education board in order to obtain the unique learner numbers. Well, there a lot of changes made since I took over this job and I have to amend the necessary fields in order to get the correct format. The system will reject if the format is incorrect.
I thought of giving up yesterday and escalate the task to the software supports. However, I managed to create the correct upload format in the end. So, I am happy.
Mee and I celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival on Sunday’s night. We drank green tea, ate mooncakes and carried lanterns. Well, of course in our room. That night was cold and the wind was strong. But we still went out for a while to take a look at the moon.

I treated my colleagues with mooncakes on Monday. Most of them never see mooncakes before and were curious yet a bit scared because they did not have any clue at all. Most of them like the taste though.
I am at my wit’s end on the design of my blog. If you notice, I have changed slightly on the sidebar to make it tidier yet I could not finish off the whole design. I will never give up though. But at the moment, I shifted my focus on my mobile phone. I have abandoned the thought of buying SE P1i and decided to keep my SE P990i. I removed the flip and it is a lot lighter now. I search through forums and I am working on transforming the skin, interface and theme to something similar to iPhone.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! This is the day of eating mooncakes, lighting up the lanterns and drinking tea as well. I thought of buying coke to drink with the mooncakes tonight because we are in UK and the weather is hot today. By the way, I will only bring the box of mooncakes for my colleagues tomorrow because on Friday, they were treated with pastries from another colleague of mine. Also, my manager was off sick.

Well, Friday was one of the busiest days. As I mentioned, my manager was off sick and I had to handle a lot of requests. However, no matter how busy I am, I will still go for lunch. I told myself that I need some rest this weekend. Indeed, I rested for the whole Saturday; watching movies and browsing. Nothing else. Not even blogging or design my blog. In fact, I went to the town centre to send some letters for Mee and window shopping at the second hand shop. The shop was selling Asus EEE P900 for £235 where the first hand price is only around £270. Expensive huh? I would have bought a first hand unit. Anyway, my target is the 10” model which is not available second hand as yet. There was only one unit of Sony Ericsson P1i but currently, I have abandoned the thought of changing my mobile phone.
Talking about the laptops, I expect more competition towards the year end as Christmas approaching. Dell, HP and Acer are rolling out mini-laptop models and hopefully, their prices will drop by year end. Hehehe ….
Just last week, while Mee was going to her college, Fitness First’s staffs were giving out free gifts to attract passer-by to join their newly opened Fitness First Black Label. Sounds good isn’t it? And Mee got blacky pen and grayish mouse pad. Two years ago, there were another fitness company’s staffs giving out free gifts near the college. Mee and I got a tumbler and some leaflets each.

Over the next few days, if possible, I will be publishing some Mee’s cookery pictures.

When I was in my secondary school, my father was actively making transactions in the stock market. That period of time was called the bull market and everyone was crazy about selling and buying shares. Every now and then, my father would be going to the trading centre and that was the place where he met some of my friends’ father.
Well, I reckon stock market is quite an interesting thing but I am never attracted by it. When you are winning, you will want for more but when you are losing, you will want even more to gain what you have lost. My brother once played futures trading where the players speculate on the price of a commodity. It is different from the stock market where you make profit when the prices go up. In futures trading, you can predict whether the price is going up or down in the future. In Malaysia, the players will often stay up late because futures trading is observing the US market.
If there is a game to play on futures trading or anything like it, I will most likely play around with it. If I were to play it with my hard-earned money, I will definitely not.
Nowadays, a lot of merchandisers have started to do promotions and sales not because of credit crunch only. They are starting to promote coming events such as Christmas. Well, the Mooncake Festival falls on this coming Sunday but months ago, Chinatown merchandisers had already started selling mooncakes and lanterns.
But weeks before Christmas, there are the Black Friday and the Thanksgiving. Black Friday is popular in United States and it is the Friday after Thanksgiving, where it is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season. Needless to say, at this time of the year, merchandisers around United States have already starting promoting their 2008 Black Friday and after Thanksgiving sales. Incredible huh? Well, even the free newspapers distributing around Basingstoke are already publishing Christmas events for bookings.
