Problems …

Two days without posting. What was I doing? ‘Nothing’ is the answer. Well, I mean nothing special. Mee worked long hours, both Saturday and Sunday. She is VERY hardworking. Me, on the other hand, did nothing. Initially, I reserved my time to setup and repair my Nokia E61 because I expected the parcel to reach me by Saturday. Yes, it did come but I never heard any door bell at all on Saturday. Maybe I was watching movie at the time the postman came. All I was left with was a piece of notice asking me to collect my mail at the main post office.

If I were to have it delivered to another post office which is near to my place, I will have to pay 50 pence. Thus, I woke up at 0700 this morning to get the parcel. The LCD screen is with me now but I could do nothing to it until I get home.

My SendMail function has not been working for months, I think. My sis had sent quite a few comments previously but I did not receive any comment notifications through emails. Currently, I have directed my blog to send the notifications to my office’s email and it seems to be working fine.

Cap fact

I was not able to differentiate hat and cap when I was small. However, knowing the difference does not matter much because I prefer cap than hat. Mee does not like me wearing hat or cap because she thinks that my head is small. Wearing hat or cap will essentially cover most of my hair and make my head looks smaller. As winter approaches, I believe Mee should get a hat because she is quite afraid of cold weather. In comparison, she looks better in hat or cap compares to me.

I need a netbook …

It is Friday. Good because weekend is here once more. Hmm… what movie should I watch then? Well, that is not my only concern. Apparently, it is only around two months to countdown before we go back to Malaysia. Will I be able to update my blog frequently? EC dropping? Mind you, I only have dial up connection at Malaysia home. That is not bad rather than nothing at all.

I have yet to purchase my netbook but I am planning the steps of making a full back up and maybe install Linux Ubuntu on it. Otherwise, I will make a light copy of Windows XP instead of installing full version of Windows XP. There are netbook owners who installed Mac OS X but some of the functions are not supported. Thus, I will not be keen on installing Mac OS X once I get my netbook.

Netbook, netbook and netbook. It has been my excuse in getting some of my jobs done. I need a netbook so that I can format my computer. I need a netbook so that I can keep blogging while I am in Malaysia. I need a netbook so that I can transfer pictures and files faster. I need a netbook so that I can fiddle around with operating systems. I need a netbook blah blah blah blah … Endless excuses. That is my hobby in order to get new gadgets.

Almost the end of 2008 …

November is here now. It was not that cold this week as compared to last week which was freezing. I was late to work by 5 minutes today because I went to Lidl and the cashier charged me the wrong price for an item. It took almost 10 minutes to call the supervisor and then void the transaction and re-enter the transaction again. I bought an ice scrapper, a multi-cigarette socket, some vege and fruits.

Well, the real meaning of mentioning November is that Christmas is approaching. And I will soon order my netbook. My decision has changed over the time and now, I am focusing on Samsung NC10. Samsung was renowned for its short battery life in mobile phones. However, several test results from various netbook reviews indicated that Samsung NC10 is one of the longest lasting netbook.

Other than that, Samsung NC10 has the same specifications as other netbooks. It also comes with anti-bacterial keyboard. Nice for me because my palms tend to perspire.

My Nokia E61 LCD screen has not arrived. It should arrive either today or tomorrow because I received an email saying that the item was dispatched on the 4th November 2008.

Nokia E61 revival …

I woke up late today. But still, I managed to get to the office on time and there were a few parking spaces left. I got to use the new shower which was installed yesterday. After weeks of waiting, I hope the new shower system will be able to solve the problem. Otherwise, we will keep pestering our landlord.

Few days ago, I spotted my Nokia E61 while I was tidying up my stuffs. It was left in one of the boxes where I store my network cables. I tried to switch it on but it is still the same problem; the screen is damaged. The good news is, I have ordered a LCD screen from ebay and hopefully, I would be able to get my Nokia E61 working again within the next few days.

If you ask me to choose between Nokia E61 and Sony Ericsson P990i, I honestly do not know which one to choose. Nokia E61 is thin and there are a lot more application can be used with it. Moreover, the internet connection is faster than P990i. On the other hand, P990i has a touch screen interface and 2MP camera. I shall keep Nokia E61 as a SkypePhone and VOIP phone.

Companies’ insurance

Buying insurance is always in my thought. Yet I reckon that it is still not the right time. The types of cover are wide and to choose one which is suitable may be hard because human beings always have a lot of ‘what if’ factor.

We may have heard of some extreme cases where there are people who insured parts of their body. Nowadays, companies are investing in key man life insurance where insurance companies compensate for the loss of the employees insured. Obviously, the employees insured must be very important for the companies to make such decision.
