Flower tagging …

Right now, we are still running on the same old server. We have no intention to run the new server because it will cause another few hours of downtime in order to configure the new server. We agreed that we should use the old server name in order to avoid any conflicts that may happen in the future. More importantly, they have important reports and data that need to be produced by today and hopefully; we will be getting on with the new server tomorrow.

Tonight, Mee will work late shift again. I might work late too because I need to do the backup since the new server is on hold.

As I am actively dropping Entrecards, my blogs are listed on some of Entrecardsters’ top droppers. Few days ago, I was tagged by Ask Ms Recipe with friendship’s flower. Well, my list of friends would be as follow:

Technically Easy
Singapore in London
Steven Humour
Watadid
The Natural State Hawg
Room 237_Origins
Low Han Yew’s Journal

Here are the rules for this tag;
1) Right click to save the badge to your computer and put it on your blog
2) Link back who pass you this tag.
3) Spread this tag to at least 7 or more bloggers who you think you are friend with

And lovely are the blossoms
That is tended with great care,
By those who work unselfishly
To make the place more fair.
And, like the garden blossoms,
Friendship’s flower grows sweeter
When watched and tended carefully
By those we know and meet
.And, if the seed of friendship
Is planted deep and true
And watched with understanding,
Friendship’s flower will bloom for you.

MMORPG great on netbooks

Whenever I get my hands on any new gadgets, I always think of games. Games, games and games. When I first bought my Sony Ericsson P990i, the first thing that I searched was games. Before I even bought Samsung NC10, I was already checking the types of games that will run on that small little machine. Well, the list of games that can be played on netbooks is quite limited to children games and 3D shooting games, which I am not really interested.

Hence, I shifted my focus and installed Mac OS X on it. Now that I have both Windows XP and Mac OS X on Samsung NC10, I am going to search for Mac games. In fact, there are quite a lot of free games for Mac but I have not tried any. Thus, I shall not make any comments yet.

One type of game which will definitely work is internet game. Honestly, I have not tried any internet games for the fear of getting addicted. But I must admit that I really need to try it out. A netbook will definitely work the treat and the first MMORPG that I am going to try is the NEO Shifters Resistance.

MMORPG – Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game

It is working smoothly on NC10 and this is the game that I can play using Windows XP as well as Mac OS X. The character can be customized almost from head to toe and you will definitely not getting the same look as other online players. Best of all, the game play can be translated into different types of languages and it will be the battle of the world!

I will definitely recommend Neo Shifters Resistance to anyone who has a netbook but feel limited to the types of netbook games available. By the way, I cannot wait to try it out on my 19-inch monitor too. Play Neo Shifters Resistance now and catch me if you can.

NC10 WiFi is working on Mac …

Mee worked late night shift yesterday while I reached home at 1900. As always, I was doing the backup and one of the colleagues was still rushing her work. I cannot wait for the new server to be setup and running. Otherwise, I will be staying late every night. Hopefully, no one is staying after 1700 today.

The good news is that Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.5 is working fine on my Samsung NC10 which means the WiFi is working good too. I am not going to say that it is working perfectly because obviously, there are not suitable drivers available for some functions like microphone and network interface card. Likewise, I have switched the keyboard to US keyboard mapping because Mac OS X does not seem to like British keyboard mapping. Anyway, I am very glad that the WiFi is working after much experiment and restarting the machine.

Vacation time

This is the time of the year. Some of my colleagues have planned their holidays during Christmas. We have about a week’s holiday and some of them choose to celebrate Christmas at places other than UK. One of my colleagues is going on a tour to Caribbean Islands and ‘pirates’ is the word that comes to my mind when I heard ‘Caribbean’. However, I dare not to ask her about it.

Even my landlord had gone to Spain last Christmas and I wonder if he will go again this time. Besides Spain, I also heard some of them are going to Italy, France and even Outer Banks, North Carolina (picture above, from National Geographic). It seems like this credit crunch season does not affect them at all.

When will I tidy up my blog? …

It is my ex-manager’s birthday today. He has moved to another office nearby and a new guy from another department is seated at his place. Well, not much has changed, just the seating. He still comes here often to discuss things. The new guy is as quiet as me and since my ex-manager has moved the office is certainly not as lively as before.

Right at the moment, I am just hoping that the new server will be up as soon as possible so that I do not have to do the backup anymore. The problem when doing the backup is that the whole system slows down, as well as my computer.

As for my blogs, things are not looking very well. In fact, there are no changes at all and I am just posting and ranting all the time. I need to seriously tidy up this blog but at the same time, I want to setup my Samsung NC10 with Mac OS X and WiFi. The WiFi chipset does not seem to be compatible with Mac OS X but apparently, there are some workarounds which I have not fully tested. Head over to All My Reviews if you want to follow up my progress. Fingers crossed!

UK is about fashion

When I was in Malaysia, I always loved to go to Brothers Car Accessories shop and Eneos Car Center. They both sell a lot of car accessories and car modification tools. Even though I did not spend much on modifying my car at that time, but I loved to see the types of technologies and accessories that could improve the look and performance of the cars. Well, it was similar to what I would do when browsing computer accessories, hardware and software.

In UK, I find that there are not much specialized shops on cars and computers. There are people driving Harley Davidson’s motorbike but I doubt that it is easy to find and Harley parts here. There is Halfords, selling car accessories but the range of items is limited. There is Maplin, selling computer hardware and software but then again, the range of items is limited. Online is a good place to compare prices but I like to look at the actual products rather than just pictures.

So, what is all about in UK? I believe it is fashion. Shops that are making profitable businesses in this recession period are fashion shops like Primark and Topshop. Even Currys, one of the largest electronic shops, has reported loss this year.
