Sadly, my grandma passed away last Friday. She was 83-year-old. However, I am glad that I was able to see her during this year’s Chinese New Year yet sad because I was not there for the mourning ceremony. But I did call back home and was told that everything was fine.

Our car was sent into the college’s workshop the previous Monday. Upon checking, I needed to wait for another two weeks to get the part. Coincidentally, two weeks from now, Mee and I will be on our Italy trip. The good thing to have our car checked at college’s workshop is that they are not likely to incur charges if change of parts is not necessary.

Our old computer is acting extremely weird. A wrong click will cause it to hang. The problem is that we do not even know which will be the wrong click. The truth is it just hangs anytime it likes. All the problems will be gone soon as our new computer is expected to arrive today. The tracking status was ‘Out for Delivery’ at 0805 and has not updated since. I am so anxious and I think I will go crazy if it does not arrive today.

One of my friends has joined the world of insurance. He is one of my best friends and we still keep in touch with each other even though we are at different parts of the world; through e-mail. As I though that it is time that I think about buying insurance, I asked some advice from him. It is kind of difficult thing to do because I am living in UK now and buying insurance from my friend will mean that I need to go back to Malaysia to sign the document. On the other hand, the monthly repayment is still a concern and the medical card cannot be used in UK.

In the past, I received some calls from banks like Halifax and Abbey introducing their insurance policies like no medical exam life insurance and low monthly repayment which sometimes sound a little too good to be real. I rejected them even though I was very interested. For me, I like to investigate and know the options that I have when I am about to purchase or subscribe something especially insurance as it needs consistent payment and commitment. Well, maybe it is not a good time for me to buy insurance at the moment, or maybe I should just take the initiative and look around when I have the time.

Mee and I were in town on the 22nd April 2009 to celebrate our housemate’s birthday. She is the same age as us. We ate at Nandos; her favourite dining place and proceeded to sing birthday song and eat cake at home. We all have a good time though but it is a little bit uneasy for me because of my toothache.

Weight loss, weight loss and weight loss. My colleagues were talking about this topic this morning. It seems to be a hot topic at the moment or is it just because 90% of my colleagues are ladies? Even Mee and her family were talking about dieting as mentioned in my previous post. The question is what is the best weight loss supplement? Or should it be a question of what is the best weight loss method? The fact is different people have different reaction towards different products. I still believe that eat healthily and exercise are more than enough.

Soon, I will start again my survey which I had left it stalling after I came back from Malaysia; the gym membership’s survey. Mee and I need to do some serious exercise now. Because of the weather and our working hours, it is a bit difficult to do some outdoor exercise. Yeah, it is correct that indoor exercise is not as good as outdoor exercise but it is still better than doing nothing. I have considered Nintendo Wii Fit but that will just make our room smaller, haha.

However, one question remains. Why there are not many people mentioning weight gain?

The weather has been dry. I need to apply lotion on my face; otherwise my skin seems to be tearing off when I smile or something. Mee even suggested me to use eye cream. Naah, that is not something I would want to do. Anyway, whenever I apply the lotion, I cover the eyes area too. So that is not too much of a concern for me.

I remember when I was young; I never even used facial wash. I just used water to wash my face. Let alone lotion or eye cream. The only product that I used was Vitamin E bought by my sister because the skin condition of my hands and legs were terrible. But I am glad that they are better right now.

Heavy Loading
Unfortunately, I am not sure whether I can do something about this. I reckon that it loads faster than the previous design because I have removed quite a lot of coding, scripts, plugins and advertisement. But one thing that I noticed while I was in Malaysia was that my blog certainly looked heavyweight during loading.

Another explanation maybe regards to the different network and bandwidth in each country. My blog is hosted in US, so it will be slower to load it using Malaysia network. It is also the same case when I try to browse Malaysia’s websites (loading Celcom website and Lelong website takes ages).

The Design
It seems to Mee that the new design is good but not as good as to replace the previous design. Hmm… this is a tough one. Indeed, the time I spent on this new design was only two days and it took a few more days to replace the old design was due to testing and checking the links.

First, I need to find something to replace the picture. Or change the layout again so that the picture is in a better position. To Mee, it is difficult for her to read the posts because they are on the right hand side. Indeed, a good design has to have the links on the right and texts on the left (just like my good old blog design). Somehow, I tend to be different. Like my old blog design, I do not have borders and have designed a logo at the top right side.

Second, I might change it to white background; if I were to change the layout.

Third, I need more time in the toilet. It seems to me that I always get design ideas while in the toilet, hehe!
