Mee and I just had a steamboat meal and we were very full at the end of it. We did not have a lot of meat and most of it was just vegetables. A lot of vegetables.

For the next two weeks, I will be working without my manager. He is on leave and hopefully, nothing goes wrong. There have been a lot of changes at the college and one of the most significant changes that will affect us is the repositioning of our office furniture. Apparently, classroom furniture that still exists in the office will be replaced and our workspaces will be rearranged to accommodate more shelves. I wonder why we still keep paper copies.

Hmmm…. Just come back from Morrisons. There were quite a lot of promotions going on there. Apparently, all the major supermarkets are having lots of promotions in order to attract customers. A few things that Mee and I are considering are the HAVC filters for our Brita water filter, Philips light bulbs and 4-way extension sockets. They are sold at a very low price but we are still considering though. Anyway, the promotions end at the end of October and the only thing that we will be worrying about would be whether or not there will still be stock at the end of October.

Mee and I have decided to go on a vacation in Barcelona, Spain. As mentioned in my previous post, most of my colleagues are either have a holiday booked in a few weeks’ time or have already come back from their holiday. It seems like a trend and I know some of them will be away from home during Christmas too.

We have not booked the flight and hotel yet as choosing the right hotel is kind of difficult. Sometimes, I just thought that I could just book the flight and hotel package where I thought the price was right but I was back in the reluctant mood again as soon as I read the review. Some hotels like the cancun hotel is in the city but it seems like most of the travellers complained the same thing about hotels in the city which is the noise. Hotels near the beaches look really nice but they are quite far away from the city and I am afraid that the whole trip will be a tiring one. Decision, decision, decision.

I have been doing quite a lot of surveys recently. Some for money while some for points which can then be converted into money, vouchers or discount codes. So far, I have yet to take advantage of the surveys which I had completed. I wonder if they keep their promises as some users from one of the survey websites complained that their vouchers take weeks to arrive. Well, as I told Mee the other day, we should be expecting too much out of it and we should just complete the surveys in our own free time. Sometimes, we get funny surveys too such as surveys about motorcycle jack which is completely irrelevant to us. Half way through the survey, we were told that we are not in the target group.

I had a surprise call from a colleague of another department. He invited me to lunch at the college’s restaurant and he said that it will be a free three course meal. Immediately, I asked why it was free and he said that on and off, the college’s restaurant would invite staffs to go over for a free meal as a practise for the students. In addition, the staffs in his department have a good relationship with the staffs at the restaurant. Well, I agreed. We tried to invite some other colleagues but in the end, there were only two of us.

The food was good actually. I had a salmon dish for starter and roast beef for my main course. I ordered a cappuccino instead of the dessert. That was my first time eating at the college’s restaurant since I worked here two years ago. I must say the overall experience was good as everything was supervised by the staffs at the restaurant. Well, everything except the decoration.

Everytime, as soon as I purchased my motor car insurance, I will be thinking about other insurance policies as well. However, I have not made any move yet. It seems that in UK, insurance means insurance while investment means investment. I suppose what I am looking for is insurance plus investment. Or maybe I did not make enough effort in finding one. I just do not bother to walk in a bank or call up to any insurance company to chat about insurance. Maybe it is the kind of feeling where I might end up gets pushed to purchase a policy which I do not really want.
