Back to treadmill days

Well, Mee and I were back to our home from my sister place yesterday but it is not like we are going to the gym that soon. I kind of miss the days at gym; free weights, treadmill, classes and meeting gym-mates. Soon enough, everything will be back to normal; working, gym, working and gym. But right now, I still have a few kilos to gain in order to reach my target weight. I have been talking about gaining my target weight for a few months now but it is really really hard to do. Getting the target weight is difficult but maintaining it is harder.

Snowing before Christmas …

As Christmas is approaching, everyone in the workplace seems to have paced down a bit and waiting to celebrate Christmas. Today, my manager and I will be doing the system upgrade. Hopefully, it will be completed by the end of the day. Tomorrow, we will have the usual secret Santa thingy and it should be fun. On Wednesday, which is the start of our Christmas holiday, my department will be having Christmas lunch at the Café Rouge, a restaurant located at the top of the town. We were supposed to be working on Wednesday but we received an email from the principal stating the college will close from Wednesday. However, we have already booked our Christmas lunch and we decided not to change it.

It was snowing last Thursday night but the ice has not melted. The road just outside Mee and my rented place is still covered with ice or snow if you like. At some point, my car’s traction control indicator light was blinking because the road was too slippery. Mee and I had our Christmas dinner with one of our housemates last Saturday and I had a hard time trying to park the car. The road was so slippery at the car park that the car would just spin the wheel and not going anywhere. Luckily, everything was fine in the end and we had a nice but kind of expensive Christmas dinner.

And it is snowing again now; quite heavily. Hope that it does not get any worse.

PhD or Maximuscle

I think about two months ago, I ordered two tubs of PhD ISO-7 supplement and now, it is time to order again. Remember that I mentioned that I have a £15 voucher from Monster Supplement? I was wrong and it is actually a Maximuscle voucher. On the other hand, I saw an advertisement from another website offering discount on PhD supplement with free PhD Catalyst. Well, I assume that the PhD Catalyst is some kind of vitamins and fat busting supplements rather than slimming pills. Anyway, that left me with two choices; PhD plus PhD Catalyst or Maximuscle. Both of them seem to be a good deal and I might get both of them in the end.

Tough times

For the past few weeks, I have been working on the college internal website. I have learned a lot especially AJAX, Javascript and ASP. I am still not well versed but I was able to bring more fun to the website. It has not been officially transferred to the live system because it will be a major change and it has to go through the higher management group before it can be introduced college wide. My department manager is quite excited to introduce this but I, on the other hand, still think that there are a lot to be done and with just me developing it, the website has to be tested thoroughly before introducing it to all the staffs.

The weather today was cold and foggy. In fact, the whole day has been foggy and the weather forecast predicts that it will be cold for the next two weeks.

Mee and I got a surprise yesterday. We have access to all the Virgin TV channels. It is a promotion offered by Virgin where existing or new customers will get access to all channels free for two months. Well, I will have to remind myself to cancel it after two months. Even though we have the access to all the channels, I still find myself clicking through channel by channel every now and then to find a programme to watch. Final verdict, it is not worth paying the price to watch all the channels. Most of the programmes were repeats and some were very old programmes. In the end, we found ourselves watching Nothing to Declare, World War II, The World Strictest Parents and a programme about social security disability benefit buster which I forgot the name. Yeah, all facts and documentaries.

Voucher from Monster Supplements

I just received a £15 voucher from Monster Supplements, the website where I usually buy my PhD supplements. The voucher can be used on any products including accessories, weight gain products as well as the best weight loss supplements. I am of course not interested in weight loss products but I wonder if I should change from consuming muscle building products to weight gaining products. The voucher ends this month and that should give me plenty of time to think about.

Multi-tasking

Just few weeks ago, there was a new colleague, under the apprentice scheme, joined the office. New office furniture was brought in and a few tables were moved around to adjust the spaces available. You see, my department manager is the head of five different but closely related departments and the new colleague has to do the job of four of the five departments. Thus, she will only be in my office in the morning and the rest of the evening, she will be in another department. I reckon that the workload will be equal but how can she possibly do her job efficiently if she were to handle four different types of tasks? At the end of the day, someone will have to follow up her tasks while she goes to another department.
