My HSBC online banking account was locked two days ago. Thus, I called the customer service yesterday and I was asked a lot of questions in order to unlock my account. I was even given a hint on one of the questions. I could have guessed the answer but I just told the guy that I could not remember the answer and he offered to give me a hint. My overall experience with the customer service support was good. Towards the end of unlocking my online banking account, the guy told me about the Bank Account Advance which will offer me several benefits such as motor breakdown cover, life insurance quotes, better interest rate on my regular savers account and more. However, I have to pay a monthly fee which in my opinion is not quite worth it. Hence, I told him that I will think about it. As much as I like about getting an insurance policy, I guess that the Bank Account Advance is not for me. One thing that I do not quite like about HSBC is that whenever I contact the customer service through phone or branch, the person serving me has the ability to look at all my accounts. Maybe it is the same with other banks but I just do not like the idea even though I have not got a lot of money in the bank.

    I thought life insurance policies were for the remaining family members after a person’s death. For instance, the main worker in the family should get a life insurance policy to ensure their spouse and children have enough money if something were to happen.thanks

    I don’t think HSBC is providing good customer service.I have HSBC credit card and i suffered a lot due to that,i always pay more for this card.
