I meant to publish this yesterday but my blog was down.
Two days ago, my office was ‘flooded’ and today, we were able to move back in again. They had placed several humidifier machine in the office when it stopped flooding. However, they had the light turned on for two consecutive days. It seems to me that people just do not bother to turn off the lights when there are no one around. And just when we were moving our documents and computers, my manager managed to cause the power trip while connecting his computer to the power unit. That made us wondering if it was safe for us to move into our office. Obviously, someone needs some bpi certification as well as health and safety check on our office to ensure that it is safe to use.
Very soon, I will be browsing the internet and comparing auto insurance. Yeah, every now and then, I will get all sorts of auto insurance email from my previous provider, current provider as well as other providers where I had requested an auto insurance quote before. Just today, there was a junk mail from Aviva. Hmm… I might get a quote from Aviva and cheapestautoinsurance.net. While Aviva does not feature in auto insurance comparison website, it offers two months free which is kind of attractive. But still, I will also take a look at price comparison websites to see what other providers have to offer.

Recently, Mee is addicted to streaming Taiwanese variety show. Whenever she is in front of the computer, she will be watching a Taiwanese variety show. As the streaming service is free, the service provider has all sorts of advertisement in the background; ranging from acne cream to high technology equipment. However, all the advertisement disappear when the streamed videos are viewed full screen. Whether or not the quality of the video when viewing full screen is acceptable will depend on the quality of the uploaded video itself. In addition, I believe the introduction of Windows 7 to her life has made her more enjoyable when using computer.

Yeah, I have just installed Windows 7 and the installation was very quick. I would say it took less than 30 minutes and 90% less configuration to start with. The speed is incredible too. I have never thought Internet Explorer could be that fast to work with. Windows XP is definitely faster than Windows Vista but Windows 7 is even faster than Windows XP. Stability wise, I am not too sure because I have only used it for two days. I have never heard any complains from Mee, so I assume that all is good. I wonder if it will be worth installing Windows 7 on my netbook.
Hmm… Last week, my appetite was not as good as I would like it to be. Towards the end of last week, I lost some weight. It just happens sometimes. And sometimes, I can be hungry all the time. Anyway, I just find it difficult to gain weight compare to lose weight. I can drop 0.5kg to 1kg in a day but it will take me about 2 days to re-gain the lost weight.

Today was the last visit of the consultant. My manager was hoping to book more consultancy days so that we could finish the project on time or maybe before the deadline. However, judging by my current progress, I believe that I could finish the project with the help of the consultant. No disrespect to the consultant as he has the knowledge of setting up a system but in terms of user interface and functionality, he still has to make use of Google search. I believe that is the same method for most programmers but I could have done it myself rather than looking at him doing it. Anyway, towards the end of the day, my office “flooded”. The consultant could not continue the job because we had to shut off the main power. “Flooded” in the sense that the roof was leaking and we had to move all the computers and documents out of our office. I wonder what will happen tomorrow.

We all know that most of the customer services in companies like Virgin Media, Sky, banks, telecommunication sectors and the likes have been moved to India. While they may seem to be helpful, a lot of times, they could not solve problems promptly and knowledgeably. My experience with 3 mobile customer services has been good but maybe because I have only contacted them about new contract. No complains on that. However, my experience with Virgin Media is horrible.
Quite frequently, you will hear me complaining Virgin Media services. I do not really like to contact the customer services through phone calls, as I always have to wait like 30 minutes before I get through to someone. The other option is to email them. Of all the emails that I sent to the customer services, I got quick response. However, of all the questions that I asked, they would always miss one or two. And their answers were not always favourable. Adding an extra service takes just an email message while removing service will require Virgin Media user to phone in. That does not make sense, does it? Well, it does make sense to them because they can then persuade the user to continue subscribing the service but not for the user.
Customer services are what customer about not what company about. In my opinion, they are still the cheapest and changing provider will mean more trouble. Guess that I will have to bear with them.

I watched The Gadget Show last night and coincidentally it reviewed the most talk about gadget, iPad. Well, it has been months since I last watched The Gadget Show. While I am happy that they reviewed the iPad, but it was brief and not quite of what I expected. Curiously, I visited their website just minutes ago. I clicked on the reviews on compact digital cameras and again, the reviews were brief. I wonder if they really knew how to do reviews. If they head over to TrustedReviews, they would be ashamed by the kind of quality reviews provided by TrustedReviews. I have to admit that I do not quite like some of the presenters in the show. Anyway, I just wish that their reviews could be more detail rather than just entertaining the audience.

I am sure that you know about the bulky Polaroid cameras that print photos instantly. To me, some models look like a big hole puncher. But now, Polaroid has recreated instant cameras in digital format which is called the Polaroid PoGo. You can choose to buy a Polaroid Instant Digital Camera or Polaroid Instant Mobile Printers for use with you own digital camera. Of course, they are more compact and the quality is much better. It uses ZINK paper which means zero ink paper and each photo is printed in about a minute though the size of each photo is only 2” X 3”. Undoubtedly, more sizes will come and maybe poster printing. You never know. Sadly, sources from some websites commented that a single charge on the Polaroid Instant Mobile Printer only managed to print three or four photos. I wonder how the Polaroid Instant Digital Camera fares.
