Airmiles

I signed up Airmiles a few months ago to take up the advantages of exchanging points for travel deals. One of the best deals is getting an instant 1500 points when I have my credit cards approved by Lloyds bank and spend £10 or more in the first month. Well, I have done that and I now have 1500 points worth of voucher which will allows me to book a return ticket for two in zone 1. I have not really looked at how far zone 1 will take me to but I guess, it won’t be very far. The idea of booking hotels through Airmiles website also has made me feel that there won’t be any cheap hotel deals. Anyway, it is less than 2 months from Christmas and any trips will have to be planned after Christmas and New Year.

Dealing with Lloyds bank is not very pleasant too. I have applied for additional cards for Mee a couple of months ago but there is no news at all. Not even a letter saying whether it is approved or not. No wonder it is one of the worst bank in UK in the recent survey.

A day in London …

Mee and I went to Westfield Shopping Centre yesterday. It is huge and it was crowded even though it was weekday. Immediately, we noticed a long queue outside Hollister and Co. There were no sales or gifts going on and we were wondering what actually attracted all the people queuing to get into the store. So, we went into Apple Store to use the internet and look up the store. Well, apparently, it is the same company as Abercrombie & Fitch and it is just a trend where people queue to buy the apparels.

Well, we were not interested in queuing for Hollister and Co. but certainly, I was attracted to the new 11’ Apple Macbook Air. Sometimes, you just have to see it in order to believe it. I always know about Macbook Air and how ideal it would be if I owned one. But the price is always the crucial factor. Seeing the new Macbook Air really made me think that it is worth every penny. It’s fast, solid, thin and light. My Samsung NC10 netbook is painfully slow now and that will be my very first excuse to buy an Apple Macbook Air.

As soon as we left Apple Store, we did some window-shopping and had our lunch at Yo! Sushi. We then left Westfield and headed to Chinatown to buy some food that we could not get in Basingstoke. We had our dinner at Rasa Sayang and went back home after that.

Blackheads and acnes

In the past, I never really cared about my face. I was still using water to wash my face when I was 17 years old. I only started using facial wash when I went to college. Weird huh? I believe, my life turned upside down when I was in college, but in a good way. I was busy with clubs’ activities and you could spot me eating supper at some Indian food stalls. Acnes started invading my face and I could spot little black spots on my nose, which was the time when I knew what are blackheads. Anyway, I care about my face more than before. In the cold weather, my face could get so dry that I have to apply moisturiser. Well, this is something that I would not have done in the past. I guess what I am trying to say is prevent is better than cure.

Gym

The body attack class was fully booked today. We did not manage to get a place and had to settle down using the gym equipment. However, as Mee was not too keen using the gym equipment, we left the facility half an hour after that. The gym was a little bit messy today because it was quite pack. Some users seem to not bother putting things back to their original place. In addition, the counter was full of leaflets such as the best hgh supplement, their online store offers, their new website as well as sports magazines. Their new website is a bit useless. I tried to book the classes through the website a few times before but I was told that I needed to pay for it. Now, I just use the old website to book the classes, simple and straightforward.

Cold days

The weather has been really cold. For the past couple of days, I had to scrap the ice off my car’s windscreen. It rained at night and by morning; the water had turned to ice. Today, however, has been a raining day. While driving to work, there were people using umbrellas, rain coats as well as rain boots. I guess you can imagine how heavy the rain was. It is still raining now, though not as heavy as this morning.

I have just booked my car in for another job. This time, it is the clutch. The car is already 11 years old and there is no record of clutch change by the previous owner. Furthermore, the car judders from stand still and it judders even more on slope. I guess it is time to change and I was quoted about 300 pounds which I think is quite reasonable. I did not bother to look around because that workshop is the one that I always go. The location is not great and I just hope that they have a spare car to lend to me.

Skittles and some complaints

Skittles night gone and we kind of enjoyed it, though it was not as fun as bowling. We had a good laugh and that’s what count on a night like that. This week is a school holiday and my workplace is quiet again. We get many car park spaces too. Even though it is quiet, the workloads have just kept on piling. I guess I am just too focused on one particular task, which has caused some delays in other tasks. Once again, the network will be down on Thursday and Friday. Some staffs are advised to take leaves on those two days. I have to take because without the network, I have nothing to do at all.

The new principal has affected many areas and IT infrastructure is one of them. Apparently, a lot of money is spent but I can’t really see the benefit of it. The network will be taken down because of the incompetent of the IT engineers. They could not complete their job in the time frame set and it causes some of the staffs to take unnecessary leaves. The new principal likes to see changes and yet we hardly see the changes except the changes that we made. In fact, a lot of things are going downhill.

Well, enough for the complaints. Mee and I had our first Monday’s body attack class in weeks. A few unfamiliar faces but it is still the best workout of all. Tomorrow will be a session of yoga which kinds of balance it out, we hope. Back in the locker room, there was a guy consuming hgh supplements which claims to help to increase muscle size. He is already quite muscular and I cannot imagine him getting any bigger. As for now, protein powder is sufficient for me.
