Recently, I have been watching a few TV programmes which are the types that I don’t normally watch; The Sorority Girls and I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. I have to say that I am quite a movie addict because I watch anything regardless of the genres. One thing that I learn about US films is sorority. Remember the famous American Pie movies? They talk more about fraternity though the concept is about the same. Anyway, since I learn those stuffs from films, I really want to know the real sorority. Quite often, movies are exaggerating in all areas. Indeed they are different from the movies. They are educated and their spirit towards their sorority is high and I respect that. Well, just so you know, The Sorority Girls show is about five American girls coming to the UK to select five UK girls to become UK first sorority girls. Immediately from the first episode, you could already see the difference between the American sorority girls and wannabe UK sorority girls. Some of the wannabes brought dozens of fake tan products and eyelash growth product. While I agree that some girls should put on make up to enhance certain features, overdoing it is just going to make things worse. Furthermore, they are on a competition show which I don’t think they will have the time put on those make ups and fake tans.
I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here is not new and it started the first series in 2002. I never got interested in it since every time I tuned into it, the contestants were always talking. I always thought that it’s a bit like Big Brother; a show which I don’t think I will ever watch. Anyway, Mee has started watching I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here and so am I. But to be honest, we still only like to watch the challenge part. And boy, the advertisement break is ridiculously frequent. It’s almost like there will be an advertisement break every 8 minutes. As I said, most of the time, we are listening to the contestants talking. Hence, if we are focusing on the challenge part and less frequent advertisement break, the show will be over in 30 minutes. Much like watching Fear Factor which Mee and I absolutely love to watch.

My time has really gone crazy nowadays. My sleep time nowadays is about 0230. Honestly, I can really go a day without sleep but I can’t because I need to work the next day. And I do think that I really need to increase my hours of sleep. How that can be changed remain to be seen. I still have that kind of idea where sleeping is a bit waste of time but then again, when I sleep, I tend not to wake up until absolutely necessary. Maybe I like both; sleeping and staying awake. Unfortunately, there’s only 24 hours a day. Some people might say that you get a lot of sleep when you are dead. It’s true especially you don’t know what’s going to happen the very next day of your life. Having said all that, I can actually choose to sleep early and wake up very early too. The ‘wake’ part is the difficult bit for me, and for most people.
I actually overslept today. I could still make it to the office in time but the different was noticeable between a rushed day and a normal day. I once read an article where it said that if you wake up immediately after your alarm sounded, instead of lazing in bed, you could actually feel fresher than most days. I honestly tried that and it did make a huge difference. But I just couldn’t do it on a daily basis. The bed is too attractive. I will try it tomorrow again and see if I can make it.

No doubt Christmas is fast approaching. Every year, the celebrations seem to get earlier and earlier. Just weeks ago, Christmas trees have already been put up in the town centre. Dozen of retail stores have started decorating and having sales. Very soon, my colleagues will be talking about our yearly Christmas presents where each of us will buy a small gift and put into together into a sack. On our final working day before our Christmas break, we will each draw one out and that will be our Christmas present. I wonder what will be their selection of Christmas gifts for babies as one of my colleagues has got a baby girl and another baby coming soon. My other colleagues might get something for that colleague since it’s Christmas.
Hmm… I don’t think that I ever bought anything for myself during Christmas. Well, I mean something expensive. All I ever got during previous Christmases was clothing. As I mentioned in my previous post, I might get myself an iPod Nano watch. It’s nothing new, it’s just an iPod Nano plus a watch strap. I have done some research for the past few days and most smart watches are either expensive or ugly. I think iPod Nano watch might just do it well for me. To my surprise, Sony Ericsson had developed a series of bluetooth watches a few years ago. However, no one knows why they decided to discontinue it.

A couple of days ago, I received an email from Virgin Media, my television, broadband and telephone service provider informing me that I am entitled to receive free £6 worth of telephone add-ons. It includes cheaper international calls, cheaper mobile calls and 250 minutes worth of 0845 and 0870 calls. Well, the only add-on that I am interested about is the 250 minutes as calling 0845 numbers can be quite expensive when you have to listen to some music and advertisements before you can actually get hold of someone. Other than that, I don’t make mobile phone calls very often and I use Skype for international calls which works out cheaper. Skype even allows audio conference calls where you can chat with several people at once. I never tried that before and I just thought it would be difficult to hear each other, wouldn’t it? The real big question that I have in mind is whether or not I will be charged in the future once I opted in. Though it’s a little bit late to consider it as I have signed up for it already but I believe that I can still cancel it should I find the terms and conditions a bit dodgy later on.

Mac OS X Lion
I finally did it. I downloaded Mac OS X Lion last night in less than an hour; 48 mins to be exact. It costs £20.99 and so far, I think it’s worth it. I don’t know each of the 250 new features and I am probably only interested in the full screen. However, as I use it, I discovered a few additional features, most noticeably the auto correct function which is the same as iOS. It is a great addition rather than having to right click a word in order to correct it. I am still trying to get use to the scrolling and swiping of the trackpad. Mac OS X Lion has reversed the scrolling and while I don’t think it’s difficult to use, I don’t think it’s something that people should complain about either. Anyway, it can be reverted back to how it use to be in the settings.
On other notes, I don’t think it slows down my Macbook Air and I don’t feel any speed improvement either. iCloud is only useful for me to find my iPad2 and Macbook Air. I don’t backup my data on it for now as I use Google more at the moment. The annoying thing is that MobileMe still exists in the setting menu. I thought iCloud has replaced MobileMe completely. The even more annoying thing is that it is a known problem that Lion users cannot sign in to MobileMe. So, every time I try to sync my Google stuffs, it will throw out a message requesting me to login to MobileMe.
I am quite happy with Mac OS X Lion. I haven’t experienced any serious problems. Some users reported that some swipe motions causes Safari to close unexpectedly. But Safari works fine for me and I am just loving the real full screen feature!

As discussed in my previous posts, although not in detail, I kind of decided to gamble on Lunatik Multitouch watch strap for iPod Nano. I said gamble because I found out that it is cheaper to buy at eBay. Actually, a lot cheaper. The retail price is at £69 while eBay is selling only around £25 at most including postage. And it is delivered from Hong Kong. The price is a little bit hard to believe and that’s what I am going to gamble. It’s always a hit and miss sometimes when doing deal at eBay but I do hope it’s a hit for me this time.
Anything thing about it is that Lunatik Multitouch watch strap looks bulky but it offers protection to iPod Nano. I am just a bit worry that it might look huge on my wrist. I tried to imagine it but comparing the measurements to my normal watches but who knows when it comes to seeing the real thing. Overall, I kind of make the decision to use iPod Nano as a watch and it makes a perfect Christmas present for myself too!
eBay is almost always the place where I can find things which I couldn’t find at sites like Amazon or Play.com. However, this time, it’s harder to find Lunatik products than necklace extender products! I can’t imagine that a product that popular in US can’t easily be found in UK! Well, having said that, after a trip to Hong Kong early this year, I found out that they have more people using Apple products (especially iPad and iPhone) there than anywhere else in UK.
