As I clicking through the TV channels last night, I found a very familiar TV programme; The Gadget Show. The Gadget Show Live 2012 in Birmingham has just finished and I quite glad to see The Gadget Show on TV once again. 5 minutes into the show and I found out that there were only two presenters; Pollyanna Woodward and Jason Bradbury. I thought that the other three would come later in the show but nope. After the show ended, it felt as though something was missing. It’s weird looking at just two presenters and they have kind of changed the presenting style where it looked a lot more like documentary or interview instead. It’s no longer that fun or funny. It’s more like watching a more formal TV programme.
I soon googled for The Gadget Show 2012 and it turned out that the other three presenters; Ortis, Suzi and Jon have been dropped off from the show. I can’t seem to find any more information other than that. However, it would appear that since the new series is all about World Tour where the presenters would be traveling around the world to showcase gadgets, taking all 5 presenters seem a little too much. Anyway, I do hope that The Gadget Show will be back to its 5 presenters after this series and I will still support the current series just to see what it has to offer.

Have you just bought the new iPad? Did you sell your old iPad? Nah, I did none of those. The new iPad is certainly attractive but I have no extra cash to burn. One of the reasons that I didn’t buy the first iPad was because of the lack of camera. So, in came the iPad2, and I knew that I have waited for too long. iPad2 back camera is not impressive but I just couldn’t wait for this new iPad and therefore, I took the plunge. Otherwise, I would have missed another year’s of fun!
I can’t seem to remember if there were any faults with the iPad2 when it was launched. Neither did I notice anything bad with the first iPad. This new iPad however, already have reports of it being too hot. As with iPhone4S, there were all sorts of problems when it first launched. I wonder if that is going to be a trend for Apple products from now on. Anyone would have thought that they must have tested their products countless times. Maybe, Apple should stop carrying the “Assembled in China” tag for its range of products.

Top Gear is one of my favourite tv programmes. Sometimes, I don’t even mind watch an episode from years ago. I just find it quite hilarious seeing the three of them presenting the show. At one stage, I even downloaded their first series of Top Gear. The very first episode of Top Gear, there were only about 20 – 30 live audiences. The audience just got more and more towards the end of the series. In fact, some say that the waiting list is now 3 – 5 years just to get in to see the show live! If you have something to criticise about the show, think again.
Actually, I kind of like the first series because most of the cars presented were affordable and they gave the kind of review where most normal people would appreciate. A few series later, it’s all about super car and occasionally normal consumer car. I wouldn’t blame them and to be honest, it’s a tv programme and it’s showing the cars that aren’t affordable to most people. After all, why would I want to see my car on the show when I am already driving one? Not unless it’s a super car, I think.

One very special person on the show is The Stig, who always wear scorpion helmets. He is the one who drives the super cars on the show on a designated track and they then place the lap time on a board to determine the fastest road car at the end of the series. It is claimed that The Stig can drive around the track and record a consistent lap time. I just thought that over time, The Stig should be able to improve his lap time and at the end of the series, he would be recording a faster lap time compared to the beginning of the series.
Fifth gear came and like Top Gear, it started with normal consumer cars and later on, went into super cars too. However, I kind of prefer the way Top Gear presenting a car show. No doubt they all know how to drive but not everyone can present in an interesting way. I don’t think I have ever watched an episode of Fifth Gear from start to finish.

You must have heard the following line a lot of time.
Use your common sense!
Well, just what does the common sense mean? To me, common sense is broad and one’s common sense doesn’t always make sense to another. A lot of things could have been deemed to be common sense to me when it comes to computer but I can’t really expect it to be common sense to my parents, can I? It’s nothing really, but I just dislike people referring something to common sense. I might have done it before but definitely subconsciously. Something that I would refer to as common sense would be like an airplane can fly.
More often than not, I heard of people shouted out the above line without thinking whether or not it is really about common sense. If it were me who were the receiving end, I would definitely say that it is YOUR common sense, not MINE!

Here I am, eating Ferrero Rocher in the middle of the night. I am quite tired actually but there’s another part of me that’s wide awake. I am hungry at the moment and chocolate is what’s surrounding me. Anyway, I just finished booking 80% of flights and hotels in relation to Mee and my Australia and New Zealand trip. I have to say that it’s quite a tedious job compared to our previous trips. Multiple destinations booking worked when I booked our Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan trip but not this time. Therefore, I have to book multiple one way flight instead. Luckily, they work out to be not very expensive but it’s just the effort in checking each flights and making sure the time matches.
Here are some of the facts that I found out while searching for flights and hotels in Australia. Apparently, there is $15 surcharge when booking flights and 1.5% charge when booking hotels. Most of the hotels don’t offer breakfast included package and when we found one, the breakfast consists of cereal and toast. There’s a charge for extra towels to go to the beach. If you want to check in early, you will have to pay a fee. If you want to check out late, you will have to pay a fee. Best part of all, there is not a single hotel that I can find which includes free wireless internet access. Now I wonder if it will be the same like Amsterdam where you have to pay to use the toilet even at McDonald.

Aerish GTX
I have always said about Android themes and a while ago, I published my Android home screen with the title Almost Perfect Android Home Screen. In fact, it’s the home screen that’s keeping me intact with my HTC Desire. Looking at the screen from the previous post, it looks normal like everyone would have on their Android phone. However, I searched high and low recently and managed to put together a few widgets and themes to get the home screen. Well, this is the home screen that I consider to be stylish and elegant yet giving my all the information that I need in one screen. All the widgets and themes are totally free; nothing paid or cracked.
- Cyanogenmod Theme – Aerish GTX
- Go Launcher EX Theme – Aerish GTX
- Weather – 1Weather
- Clock – BobClockD3
- Calendar – Simple Calendar
- Go SMS – Aerish GTX
Now I just love to look at the home screen though the additional pages still look a bit rubbish. Anyway, my plan is to just have icons like iOS for other pages for quick access to apps and games. I do hope that someday, they will create an Aerish GTX theme for Go Locker. The closest match is Diva Theme Go Locker.
For Facebook fans, there’s FaceDroid but I don’t like the matching color; red and blue. I thought it would be better to have white and blue instead.
