We have been going to our new house most nights over the past few weeks. The neighbours must be wondering when are we going to move in. It seems like we haven’t made much progress thought we have bought most of the necessities already. Our landlord will send us a bed frame tomorrow and we will have a place to sleep! Well, not really because we still haven’t clean the carpet as we are painting the wardrobe. I must say that I made a mess of it as I used paint brush for the first two coats before using a roller. The brush made the paint uneven on the wall while the roller made bubbles on the wall. Mee and I don’t quite understand. I googled for an answer and people were saying either the wall is filled with dust or the wall is moist. I don’t think they are the reason in this instance as the paint itself has lots of bubbles even before I started painting. Anyway, we will see how it goes as it’s only the wardrobe, not somewhere which can be visibly seen.
As we only go in the evening, I missed quite a lot of shows especially The Big Bang Theory. Well, they are repeats but I still find some episodes to be quite funny. One of the two episodes tonight was about Sheldon playing banjo in the middle of the night. Every time I saw the banjo for sale at musicians friend, I always thought about Sheldon. By the way, do you know that Penny and Leonard were together in real life for about a year or two. It must have been weird now they have split and have to film The Big Bang Theory together.
This screenshot has been “living” on my desktop for quite sometime. I found it by accident when I was trying to explain to Mee about the Golden Boot. I was really surprise when I read the first sentence. Apparently, there really are some people who has enough spare time to mess up with Wikipedia entries. There is this one episode of The Big Bang Theory where Raj admitted of editing Wikipedia entries for fun as his work project has come to an end. It’s kind of sad when you think about it. It’s almost like some people who play pranks and in this case, feeding wrong information to the public. I wonder how quickly Wikipedia sorts out this kind of mess.
I wonder if I mentioned this before. Since Friends, the old US comedy drama, is no longer aired, I have started watching another new US comedy drama called The Big Bang Theory. Even though E4 is now airing the latest series of The Big Bang Theory, I still find the old series episodes are funnier and better constructed. One of the episodes aired today was about Christmas. While Leonard and Penny are decorating a Christmas tree with christmas lights brown wire and baubles, Sheldon suggests that they should have Sir Isaac Newton figurine as the Christmas tree topper. That’s when they continue to talk about loads of scientific reasonings and terms. While I do understand The Big Bang Theory is about science, I don’t think that majority of the audience could actually understand what they are on about. Sometimes, I think they just try too hard.
Friends, on the other hand, I can watch it over and over again. It’s just a combination of simple English and body language by the casts and I do believe that many people still regards Friends as one of the best comedy dramas.
Well, one of my other favourite US comedy dramas is Two and a Half Men. However, I lost my interest in it after Charlie Sheen left the show. Men, men, men, men, manly men, men, men ….
Every since I was not able to watch Friends on the channel which I no longer subscribe, I have been searching for a comedy show that will interest me. I have seen a few but none really clicked. I guess I have mentioned this before, The Big Bang Theory is what I found in the end. What might be really sad is because they are a bunch of geeks in the show and I guess most of their audience would be geek too, which would indicate me as a geek. I might be wrong but I certainly don’t consider myself as a total geek. Well, at least I don’t part my hair or tuck my shirt in except when working.
A lot of people might see Sheldon Cooper in the show as their favourite character. My favourite character is Howard Wolowitz. However, they all talk funny phrases and if you googled for the phrases that they used in the show, it’s definitely LOL! Or even ROFL!
Though it’s not strictly a technology show, I quite like some of their ideas on technology and of course with science. The robotic arm episode was quite funny and the web video conferencing kit that Sheldon Cooper used to replace him physically in daily life was amusing! Friends is the only comedy show where I can watch over and over again and I think I could do that with The Big Bang Theory too!
