Blogging …

I used to think writing a blog is easy. But nothing is every easy. You have to have a theme to write about and being me, I just talk about anything. Hence, my blog’s rating is not as good as I like. I like technology stuffs especially games and I like movies too. Hence, I started another blog to write all relevant reviews while keeping this blog as my sort of gossip blog. Soon, I find it tedious to handle both and I ended up writing everything here.

I am quite a conservative person when it comes to posting things online. I have a Facebook account that I don’t use much. I used to post a lot once a while but nothing too personal. Hence, I think it’s quite difficult for me as well when it comes to blogging. I don’t do a lot of photos as well as I just feel a bit odd. Maybe I am not that confident myself.

Being the normal me in front of people, I somehow feel a lot more confident compare to when I am blogging. People normally feel the opposite because when blogging, you are almost anonymous if you want to. Maybe that’s just me.

Before coming to UK, I always thought developing countries have the most efficient use of technology. Well, some do but certainly not all. While working in my current workplace, I find that a lot of the staffs do not have the knowledge of being working in a green environment. You will see most staffs have a green message in their email signatures asking if it’s really necessary print the email. However, you still get people printing emails even if it’s only a few lines of texts. Back in Malaysia, well, in the last company that I worked, we always asked ourselves if we really need to print when we were about to press the button print. We also limit the number of pages each individual could print. I think they were about to implement Web To Print just before I left. Hence, I never get to learn the product but it’s all about making printing more efficient and greener too.

And I have to say, the computer that I was using at work in Malaysia was more advanced than the one I got when I first worked here. I would say that some of the classrooms’ machines were better than mine. Anyway, I suppose it depends on the type of contract they have with their supplier.

The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory

Every since I was not able to watch Friends on the channel which I no longer subscribe, I have been searching for a comedy show that will interest me. I have seen a few but none really clicked. I guess I have mentioned this before, The Big Bang Theory is what I found in the end. What might be really sad is because they are a bunch of geeks in the show and I guess most of their audience would be geek too, which would indicate me as a geek. I might be wrong but I certainly don’t consider myself as a total geek. Well, at least I don’t part my hair or tuck my shirt in except when working.

A lot of people might see Sheldon Cooper in the show as their favourite character. My favourite character is Howard Wolowitz. However, they all talk funny phrases and if you googled for the phrases that they used in the show, it’s definitely LOL! Or even ROFL!

Though it’s not strictly a technology show, I quite like some of their ideas on technology and of course with science. The robotic arm episode was quite funny and the web video conferencing kit that Sheldon Cooper used to replace him physically in daily life was amusing! Friends is the only comedy show where I can watch over and over again and I think I could do that with The Big Bang Theory too!

Living in USA

I kind of having a sudden thought about living in the US. I watched a lot of movies and it seems like most of their houses are huge. As well as huge houses, the front and back yard are spacious too. One of the problems, although that might not be a real problem would be the public transportation. Unless you live in the city, you need a car to get around.

Another thing would be their technology. They already have 4G for years and many developed countries are still trialling. Most gadgets are introduced first in the US and then only to the world. Most gadgets are available in the US but not in other countries, even UK. I saw some water pumps at WeGotPumps.com and that’s something we can’t easily find in the UK. In US, there’s a popular electronic store named RadioShack which is similar to Maplin in UK but not quite. It sells a whole range of items which I can only dream of getting here in the UK. Well, it’s not extremely hard to get it here, it’s just the price would be a lot higher.

Anyway, it sounds nearly impossible to migrate to US now since I am quite settled in the UK. On the other hand, it all depends on my work permit and then I can say whether or not I am settled in the UK.
